Pawformance Pet Specialties is a retail pet supplies store that carries specialty pet products mostly for dogs, cats and equine. Pawformance is owned and operated by Valerie MacMillan, a seventh generation Yuba-Sutter resident. Valerie is no stranger to family owned businesses; her family has operated a variety of businesses in the Yuba-Sutter area dating back to the 1850's. With the help of Valerie’s husband, Bob MacMillan, and daughter, Heather Smith, Pawformance opened its doors in 2002 as a spinoff company of King Wholesale, which Valerie opened in 1987. King Wholesale is a mail order catalog that sells to retail stores and pet care professionals worldwide.   

Valerie has worked closely with local animal shelters and rescue organizations for over 30 years. She believes in responsible pet ownership and usually has a foster dog or two.  Pawformance Pet Specialties sponsors many pet-related activities in the community and now offers a variety of training classes at the 25-acre facility where pet owners can enjoy fun and educational activities and clinics with their families.
